I have had this weird idea lately. This thought, doesn't flashed into my mind for no reason. The beautiful world that we dream of, has been reduced by us into one simple and convenient word 'heaven'. I have a notion about what heaven will be like! And also have an answer to that, don't know what it will be like. ...'! Well, I am moving on leaving this big question behind for the people who are completely drowned in faith and are constantly entangled in between this heaven and hell crap. I certainly have no desire to see heaven at the moment.

At least at the age of 30, no one desires to see heaven, right! Here I am referring to the beautiful land, which is beyond the maps of heaven drawn in my mind from generation to generation, where I had no intention to go until we got extremely bored of our Delhi-based 'temporary' home and a 'permanent job both. And finally renounced the plains hit the mountains.

Actually, I think that being permanent is against both life and nature. In a short span of time, we cannot make the blueprint of the betterment of 1000 years of life. So, leaving the good and bad aside, we took the risk of spending this short period of our life looking at the world a bit more closely. The result of taking this risk was that Sheetal and I did dozens of trips in the last two years.

These journeys went from the high-rise mountains to the land of sea and are still continuing. We saw many different colors of the world at this time, from which we were completely unfamiliar or only just heard about. Somewhere distant in the mountains we were lying carefree on the ground buried deeply under the snow.

At an altitude of 3666 meters, we were feeling the heavy wind. We have spent our evenings close to the vales and tasted the water of the frozen rivers. During this time, we were not remained untouched by the magic of the sea too. Also, we saw lives on extremely drylands. Ultimately, with the fall of October 2018, the idea of quitting the job and our longing to explore Uttarakhand increases. The spell of fascination starts falling apart and the wish to make the dry stub of life green again inspires us to move to the mountains. The same life of every day had become more monotonous now. I could no longer tolerate the subway congestion.

Every day on Yamuna Bank seeing the metro rushing towards Noida my heart would sink, and then after every passing station, I would think for how many more days this race will continue.

Finally, the day also came when the journey of measuring the entire Uttarakhand on Royal Enfield had begun... Challenging safely the icy winds in the months of November and December to see the most spectacular parts of that beautiful land where about 29-30 years ago we both were born,  grew up and the land of which we had heard a lot of fabulous and shocking stories about. Out of these, we had never been to many places yet. I was leaving for this journey in my modest savings… It was like turning a dream into a reality, where the rest of our worries were beginning to disappear.

Hopefully, this journey will be as exciting in words, as it was for me for 64 days on the bike riding on the mountain roads drenched with snow and cool winds. While rolling on the mountain slopes, multiple times I thought about those days when I was working all time… Whenever the icy winds would hit the cheeks and numb the entire body, that time I, remembering those days used to mumble these words ‘Tum Ek Gorak Dhanda Ho’! I will keep bringing all the sour and sweet tales of my Uttarakhand visit in installments under ‘Life On Wheels’.

In the next installment, I will take you straight from Dehradun to the foothills of Kedarkantha, a town situated in the foothills of snow and deodar forests, where the beauty has so far satisfied countless eyes, where, climbing-descending the hills, don't know how many stories would have come in everyone's share... Where the guides while waiting with the thrilling stories of the mountains will say in a bargaining style- 'if you wish, you can check the rate around, this is what we charge for Kedarkantha and Har Ki Dun. Together they will promise you breakfast and the dream of resting in a tent somewhere in between the meadows will push you and tell you, 'come on, let's go across the mountains where once Bahatar Singh used to cross mountains like a pro! Now, ending this part right here I am promising you to return soon with tons of interesting and informative narratives…!
